back from the Oregon Coast
that was a nice break from real life for 5 days :)
left early monday morning and headed out on I5 and somehow managed to miss all the crapass traffic that we figured we would hit!
Stopped at St. Helens but it was too cloudy Monday morning to see anything at all.. damnit!! We plan to go back and make a day trip out of it one of these upcoming weekends.
Finally hit Beverly Beach around 4pm and hooked up with Kevin's parents who were already there in the motorhome. Unpacked the van and set up the tent (now that was entertainment!) Neither of us could remember how all those damn poles went together and the instructions were inside the tent in the pocket.. lol. We found out the first night that the air matress had a hole in it... grrrr! it wasnt so bad that night as just our asses were on the ground .. it sort of fit like a recliner.. then it just got bad and we let the air out (im to old to sleep on the ground.. my hips are KILLING me.. haha) We walked all over, did a couple of geocaches (Katie found) hit the beach for kite flying, watched sunsets.. watched sunrises, had a racoon in camp that stole creamers (he didnt like hazelnut but thought original was delicious) watched as the chipmunks raided someones supply of power bars.. OMG chipmunks zinging everywhere!! went down to Newport to wander around the shops there, headed up to Tillamook to the cheese factory to get ice cream and buy cheese (yummmmm), ended up at WalMart at one point as all the shoes i brought for myself gave me blisters on different areas of my feet (ouch!!) I LOVE NO SALES TAX.. :) Went to Yaquina Head Lighthouse and found out what vertigo felt like (i didnt make it above the second landing after waiting in line for like 30 minutes to go up)
it was so nice! i really didnt want to leave!! oh well.. i have to deal with real life at some point i guess, lol.. and the contractors will be here this week sometime.. *sigh*

We spent most of the time with the frisbee in places like this
my awesome fire building skills! since i was usually the first one up :)
